Welcome to Mantle. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using getmantle.ai (the "Service") operated by Mantle ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Important Disclaimers

We Are Not a Law Firm

MANTLE IS NOT A LAW FIRM AND DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE.

The Service provides self-help tools and information to assist you in preparing estate planning documents. We do not:

  • ✕Provide legal advice or counsel
  • ✕Represent you in legal matters
  • ✕Guarantee the legal validity or enforceability of documents
  • ✕Create an attorney-client relationship

The information and documents provided are general in nature and may not be suitable for your specific situation. We strongly recommend consulting with a licensed attorney in your state to review your documents and ensure they meet your needs.

Document Validity

Estate planning laws vary significantly by state. While we strive to create documents that comply with applicable laws, we cannot guarantee that any document will be valid or enforceable in your jurisdiction. Factors outside our control—including proper execution, witnessing, and funding of trusts—affect document validity.

No Tax or Financial Advice

We do not provide tax, investment, or financial advice. Consult qualified professionals regarding tax implications of your estate plan.

2. The Service

Description

Mantle provides:

  • •Online questionnaires to gather estate planning information
  • •Generation of estate planning documents (trusts, wills, directives)
  • •Online notarization through third-party providers
  • •Document storage and sharing ("Family Vault")
  • •Guidance for transferring assets to trusts

Eligibility

You must be:

  • •At least 18 years old
  • •A legal resident of the United States
  • •Mentally competent to create estate planning documents

Account Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activities under your account.

3. Fees and Payment

Pricing

  • •Document Preparation: $995 one-time, includes online notarization for all grantors
  • •Annual Subscription: $99/year for continued access, updates, and vault storage

Prices are subject to change with notice.

Notarization Sessions Included

Your purchase includes online notarization for all grantors on your trust:

  • •Individual trusts: One (1) notarization session
  • •Joint trusts: Up to two (2) notarization sessions, whether signing together or separately

Additional notarization sessions (e.g., for failed identity verification, amendments, or re-signing) are available for $50 each.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees.

Refunds

  • •Before Notarization: Full refund available within 30 days of purchase
  • •After Notarization: No refunds, as notarization services cannot be reversed
  • •Subscriptions: Prorated refunds available upon request

Subscription Renewal

Annual subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Notarization Services

Included Sessions

Your purchase includes notarization for all grantors—one session for individual trusts, up to two sessions for joint trusts (whether signing together or separately). See "Notarization Sessions Included" in Section 3 for details.

Third-Party Provider

Online notarization is performed by licensed remote online notarization providers. By using notarization services, you also agree to their terms of service.

Requirements

To complete notarization, you must:

  • •Provide valid government-issued identification
  • •Complete identity verification (including biometric verification)
  • •Appear via live video conference
  • •Be physically located in a state where remote online notarization is permitted

State Restrictions

Remote online notarization is not available in all states for all document types. We will inform you if restrictions apply to your situation.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • •Ensuring you understand the documents you are signing
  • •Verifying all information in the documents is accurate
  • •Being of sound mind during the notarization session

5. Property Deed Recording

We generate transfer deeds to move real property into your trust. However, recording with your county recorder is required to complete the transfer.

  • •We facilitate e-recording where available; some counties require mail submission with original signatures
  • •County recording fees (typically $15–150) are your responsibility and not included in our pricing
  • •Processing times vary by county and are outside our control
  • •You are responsible for confirming successful recording with your county

Until a deed is recorded, the property has not been legally transferred to your trust. We recommend verifying recording status directly with your county recorder's office.

6. Document Storage and Sharing

Family Vault

We provide secure storage for your documents. You may share access with designated individuals.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • •Maintaining backup copies of important documents
  • •Informing trusted individuals how to access your documents
  • •Keeping your account credentials secure

No Guarantee of Availability

While we strive for high availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We recommend downloading and storing physical copies of your documents.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • •Provide accurate and truthful information
  • •Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • •Not use the Service to create fraudulent documents
  • •Not attempt to circumvent security measures
  • •Not resell or redistribute the Service

8. Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Service, including software, design, text, and graphics, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your Documents

You retain ownership of your personal information and generated documents. You grant us a limited license to store and process your data as necessary to provide the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • ✕The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • ✕Documents will be legally valid in your jurisdiction
  • ✕The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • ✕Any errors will be corrected

Limitation of Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some states do not allow limitation of implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages. In such states, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from:

  • •Your violation of these Terms
  • •Your violation of any third-party rights
  • •Inaccurate or fraudulent information you provide

11. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@getmantle.ai and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

12. Termination

By You

You may terminate your account at any time through account settings or by contacting support.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • •Violate these Terms
  • •Engage in fraudulent activity
  • •Fail to pay applicable fees

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • •Your access to the Service ends
  • •You may download your documents for 30 days
  • •We may delete your data after 90 days

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you must stop using the Service.

14. General Provisions

  • •Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
  • •Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • •Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver.
  • •Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
